LESS FINANCING It has now been confirmed that the Valencian Community will lose 65% offunding previously received from the European Union, as Spain is now set to receive 35,217 million Euros from the European Union up to 2013 that is spread over three main areas: cohesion, development and social services, and the Community has been qualified as 'phasing in' by the EU after having conformed to certain growth conditions as have Castilla and Leon as well as the Canary Islands. As a result, any major work to be carried out in the Community must now have the blessing of the Madrid Government .
