Valencia Life 6.5.5.
THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL?
In a brief reply yesterday the Justice Ministry has revealed that any building project that involves over 5 million Euros' worth of works that has not gone through the proper procedures under European Union Law is in effect illegal. The reply also appears to leave open the possibility for direct legal challenges to such immense future projects as the Rabasa development in Alicante that involves the creation of some 15,000 homes, or on a smaller scale the Ronda Norte project of Benissa. A brief statement from the AUN collective added that Mayors and Town Councilors who voted for these projects that are now termed 'illegal' could themselves face prosecution. The statement added that this decision from the Ministry could have a very serious 'knock-on' effect on theValencian land laws better known as LRAU.
