BENISSA PROJECT UNDER STUDY
It was revealed yesterday that a project has been presented to BenissaTown Hall envisaging the construction of two golf courses and 4,700 homes on an area of 3.6 million square metres. The project, which was presented by the company Benissa Golf S/L, is estimated to cost some 600million Euros and will encompass the areas of the municipality known as Lleus, Vinyent, Bombi and La Rapita. A project of this nature had been rumored for some time after Benissa Golf asked electricity company Iberdrola to envisage installing some 60,000 kilowatts for the area. The proposed area for the new project is bordered by the N-332 main road and the AP-7 motorway, with the Denia-Alicante rail tracks running through it. Benissa Mayor Juan Bautista Rosello stated yesterday that he had been 'surprised' by the presentation of the project, and that any decision over it would be made once everyone had made their points about it, from Benisseros to local politicians. "But in any case," the Mayor added, " I have no idea whether our municipality has enough water resources for a project as large as this."

Also yesterday a group of four companies in Denia presented the Town Hall with a project for some 8,000 new moorings and two helipads. Although the project was presented yesterday, many Town Councilors stated that they had not been shown the plans
