FROM VALENCIA LIFE.

CONSUL SLAMS CONSELLERIA
British Consul Russell Thomson yesterday slammed the Conseller for theTerritory Rafael Blasco for cancelling a scheduled meeting on the excusethat it was too close to Christmas. The Consul added: "I was verydisappointed that the meeting was cancelled as people are still suffering under the Valencian Land Laws, and delay is not what we were hoping for. The draft of the new law that we have seen is no significant improvement on the LRAU and I am very disappointed that they have nottaken the opportunity to restore honesty to the property market in theValencian Autonomous Community." Speaking to the local publication - The Costa Blanca News - Mr Thomson continued: "This does not address the concerns of my constituents, and it is a pity they did not agree to suspend the LRAU until next January." Charles Svoboda, the President ofthe AUN collective stated that in his view the meeting had been cancelled, as the Conseller knew he would be on the receiving end of several highly critical comments from the consuls, and added that it would be interesting to discover when the Valencian Government plans to reconvene the meeting.

Meanwhile yesterday, the collective of the owners of the Canasalades and Lluca urbanizations in Javea yesterday presented an official complaint against builder Valdicsa who has presented a project to extend Javea Golf Course from 9 to 18 holes and build 640 dwellings in the process. In their complaint the owners' representatives stated that the new plan is only slightly cosmetically altered from that presented by the same builder before Javea Town Hall last year, which was rejected by the local authorities. __________
(Since receiving the above articles it has been pointed out to the Society that the Javea plan is in fact for over 900 dwellings !!! )
