From Valencia Life Network
BLASCO AND PRICES
It has been revealed that the Conselleria for the Territory, presided by Rafael Blasco, estimates that during the next two years, the average price of houses and flats will rise by 9% annually. According to the Conseller, this is good news, but does clearly show how real estate is increasing in value whilst salaries are hardly keeping up, as on average, these increase by about 3% a year. It was also noted yesterday that between 1998 and last year, the value of housing rose by 82.7%, whilst salaries rose over the same period by just 15,8%.
MEETING CANCELLED
Meanwhile, a scheduled meeting between the Conseller and the consuls of the various countries that wrote him an official letter complaining about the effects of the Valencian land Laws has been postponed. The Conselleria has also made public a declaration it would like to Consuls to sign a letter of agreement over the amendments to the land laws that it intends to present at the next meeting of Parliament. However, a good deal of reserve has been expressed over this measure.
