Hi everyone

To all AUN members (present and future), following the Petition to the European Parliament and various other meetings Chuck has had recently, the AUN is making progress in the fight against the Valencian land laws. However, there is a long way to go yet before the laws are changed. The laws may not be changed in time to help you or your friends and neighbours so the fight must go on and by everyone.

We cannot leave the fighting to the few, we must all take part and continue to fight in whatever way we can and at every opportunity. The AUN committee members work all day every day dealing with correspondence and meeting with Government or Council officials etc. Think what you can do to help in the fight - do you have some free time to help the AUN committee? Do you have any ideas on different plans of action?

EXPAT TV STARS SOUGHT

British residents wanted for new Channel 4 TV series

Ricochet South, the makers of Selling Houses and No Going Back, are making a new TV series about buying and living abroad. They are producing a practical guide on how to avoid the common pitfalls, and they want to hear your stories.

Every year thousands of people leave the UK to start a new life abroad. We all dream about a peaceful idyll in the sun, but what happens when reality turns the dream sour?

If you are having problems with your property abroad, having trouble negotiating local bureaucracy and customs or finding your new life in the sun harder than you thought Ricochet South is looking for you. If you have any problems to share that could help others avoid the same mistakes, the producers would like to hear from you.

The producers are looking for contributors to take part in the programme, who believe others could learn from their experiences. So if you are having difficulties with your property abroad or struggling with your new business overseas and you think you should be in the programme, please contact Charlotte or Hannah on 0044 (0) 1273 648 396 or charlotte.rodrigues@ricochetsouth.co.uk or hannah.runham@ricochetsouth.co.uk

Hi everyone
In the Benissa area, AUN members recently arranged for donated items to be sold at Auction, with the proceeds for the Legal Fund.

The items sold so far have raised 639.6l Euros for the AUN Legal Fund.

Thanks to all those who contributed items for the auction. Many thanks to Dagmar, Sonia (and friends) for arranging the event and congratulations on its success.

These are the same two ladies who arranged the very successful Video/Media coverage Show last year, at which over 200 people met at the Club Fustera, Benissa to obtain information, join the AUN and to discuss the land problems.

If you wish to hold similar events or have any ideas on how to help the AUN either by raising funds or by advertising the problem to people in your area, please contact me.

Jan.
